ですからこの写真集は アメリカの記念碑/ 記念物/ 記念建造物/ 遺跡/ 史跡などです ただそれは全て Friedlander と言う人を通して写し撮られていると言うことが 写真１枚1枚を見てゆくと感じます

19世紀の写真を調べているMichael Lesyは1890年から1910年の間
Wisconsin の小さな町 Black River Falls で 町の写真屋 Charley Van Schaick が新聞などの為撮った3000枚の Grass-Plate Negative （ガラス乾板）を見つけ コラージュなどして編集し出版したものです
Black River Falls はかなり風変わりな町だったらしく この本はひとつの物語のように編集されています
